Early this morning, me and my family went by the GK Blue Eagle Village wherein we took part in the blessing of 6 homes which the BLD Covenant Community helped in building. The event started with a mass celebrated by Fr. Manny. Then, we went straight to the new home of Mrs. Daisy and her family. There, we prayed for the blessing of their new abode. The whole ceremony was concluded with a banquet together with the family whom our (actually, my parents') Homestead helped. There, I learned how valuable a home is - God gave our spirits a temporary home, our body so that one day it can go back to its real home, beside our God. For us to take care of our body we need a home to house it, to nurish it, and to become good stewards of it. Thus, the Gawad Kalinga's vision to build 7,000 homes in 7 years doesn't only serve an earthly purpose but also a spiritual one.

Goodluck to GK and I think families like yours who help in these endeavors are heaven-sent. Also, I think it's refreshing when families get together in helping people and consider it an undertaking, not just by one or a couple of the family members, but as a whole family.
Do keep it up. :)
